8 BOLD SOULS was formed by Edward Wilkerson, Jr. in 1985 for a series of four concerts to perform his new works for octet. The concert series was an overwhelming success, and the musicians were invited to perform together again and again. And so 8 BOLD SOULS was born.

Night Knights is Sylvester Arnold, Jr., Glenn J. Guichard, Michael Coleman, Michael Thornton, and Rubynn English III. The quintet has been together for over a decade. All of the members are Chicago born and raised. Versatility and flexibility are important to the group's identity.
